JavaScript Web Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Iguan Systems is seeking a Javascript Developer with at least 1 year of expert-level javascript development experience. The candidate we are looking for should have extensive knowledge of object-oriented JavaScript and heavy AJAX-driven development on high traffic websites. It is strongly preferred that the candidate have previous experience with a server-side technology. Ideally the candidate will already be comfortable coding in HTML5 and CSS3 as well. The candidate should be an advocate of JavaScript best practices and web standards, and have a passion to keep learning the latest technologies.

Job Duties

  • Stay up to speed on new and emerging front-end technologies
  • Maintaining and improving existing video platform
  • Testing and staying current on player releases
  • Liaison between video vendors and our team
  • Manage player upgrades, integrations, adhere to best practices
  • Manage video player development calendar and work closely with developers, project managers, and product owners to ensure deadlines are met

Qualifications

  • Coding in JavaScript concerning cross-browser compatibility
  • Implementing interactive JavaScript applications
  • Integrating JavaScript with front-end HTML and CSS code
  • Integrating JavaScript with PHP / XML RPC / JSON RPC back ends
  • Unit testing JavaScript code
  • Collaboration with other developers
  • Good English written, verbal and communication skills
  • 3+years of extensive experience in Web development, including coding of semantic HTML/XHTML, CSS-driven layouts
  • Ability to follow coding standards and design robust applications using best practices
  • Experience in creating rich JavaScript applications
  • Experience in developing solutions for a Cross-browser audience
